With an excellent reputation for its education and program opportunities, Alamo Community College faced sharply increasing enrollment and drastic facilities needs to keep pace with growth. In late 2002, ACC turned to Palomar to put together a modular classroom solution that would provide the space they needed fast and at a great value, while maintaining an open feel to the learning environment.
Palomar provided a full turnkey project to the college and implemented its 26 classroom solution in two phases: In Phase One, approximately 9,000 SF of classroom was built, delivered and installed withing 45 days of notice to proceed. In Phase Two, Palomar provided 11,000 SF of classroom space, also built, delivered and installed within 45 days. Wide, attractive decking was used to connect the classrooms, creating an “educational boardwalk” feel to the modular campus, providing a quality learning environment to match the quality education students receive.
