Palomar Modular Buildings completed the construction of a nine-module, 8,064-square-foot modular building for the University of Houston’s Clear Lake campus police station. The new police station is located on the campus’ northeast side.
The modular building floor plan includes a secured lobby area with restrooms and an interrogation room. The remainder of the building consists of offices, a conference room, an evidence room, a dispatch station, and communications server room, employee restrooms, and two secure holding cells. The nine-module building features a stucco exterior finish, commercial aluminum windows, a high-efficiency HVAC system, electronically secured doors throughout, durable, low-maintenance floor and wall coverings, and motion light sensors. The building is set at grade level on a concrete pier foundation.
The modules were prefabricated at the Palomar Modular Buildings manufacturing facility in DeSoto, Texas, before being shipped to the University of Houston campus for installation and final finishing.
